The Green USTB Environmental Club and Wildlife Department, Bannu Division, Celebrated World Wildlife Day at Lakki Crane Centre on dated 3rd March, 2015.

The Coordinator Green USTB, Prof. Muhammad Hassan highlighted the purpose of the event and said that every living organism on this planate have equal right to live. Unchecked deterioration of our environment will have disastrous effect on the biosphere. Chairman Botany Department, Dr. Faizan Wazir, while addressing the participant said that if environment care for us then why we should not care for the environment. Dr. Abdul Halim Khan, DFO Wildlife delivered lecture on Biodiversity and Conservation of wildlife. Large numbers of Plants were planted, by the students, in the vicinity of the park,  at last walk was arranged regarding Wildlife and its Conservation.

One-Day Capacity Building Training Workshop on Climate Change and Multilateral Environmental Agreements (MEAS) 

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Khyber Pakhtunkhawa in collaboration with Green USTB Environmental Club, University of Science & Technology, Bannu arranged One-Day Capacity Building Training Workshop on Climate Change and Multilateral Environmental Agreements (MEAS) in Central Asia Library, Main Campus University of Science & Technology, Bannu. Participants from different Walks of life and Departments participated. The Deputy and the Assistant Directors EPA presented multimedia presentation on the subject matter. Professor Dr. Abdur Rahim Khan, Vice Chancellor University of Science & Technology, Bannu, who was also the Chief Guest of the event, stressed the participants to come out and play a role in conservation of our Environment.  Director General EPA, Dr. Bashir Khan, highlighted key issues to which EPA is concerned. The Vice Chancellor presented University shield to D.G. (EPA) while the D.G. presented shield to the Vice Chancellor University of Science & Technology, Bann. At last the Chief Guest and D.G. (EPA) awarded badges to the office holders of the newly constituted Environmental Club.

World Earth Day Celebrated in the University of Science & Technology, Bannu

The Society of Green USTB, Department of Botany and Wildlife Department, Bannu Division celebrated World Earth Day by arranging a workshop in the Department of Botany, University of Science & Technology, Bannu on dated 22th April, 2015. DFO Wildlife Department, Mr. Abdul Haleem Khan, presented detail presentation on the importance of this day. The Vice Chancellor, UST Bannu, Prof. Dr. Abdur Rahim Khan, while speaking at the occasion highlighted the individual responsibility of the society and stressed that we must think over the fact that we are receiving each and every necessity from the Mother Earth butwhat we are doing in return? Being responsible and educated members of the society we must play a role to save our present and future.  DFO Wildlife presented a gift of “Book on Wildlife” and a “Mug” to the Vice Chancellor.

 

Besides large number of students of the University, the Registrar, Prof. Dr. Sultan Mehmood Khan, Coordinator Green USTB, Prof. Muhammad Hassan and Chairman Botany Department, Dr. Faizanullah Khan attended/ participated in the workshop.

Spring Festival Arranged in the University of Science & Technology, Bannu.

The Society for Engineering & Computing (SEC) arranged “Spring Festival” in the Institute of Engineering & Computing Sciences, University of Science & Technology, Bannu w. e. f. 11- 12th March, 2015. The basic motives behind the festival were:

·         To minimize the shadows of fear and uncertainty prevailing in the area due to terrorism.

·         To give a message to the world that the inhabitants of the area are peaceful and peace loving.

·         To provide some recreation to the people of the area.

·         To provide a plate form to the students of the area for presenting their talent in various fields.

·         To channelize the activities of the students in constructive and productive ways

 

Besides Students and faculty members of the University of Science & Technology, Bannu large number of students from different Schools, colleges and Universities attended/ participated in different events of the festival. The various events include Installation of different stalls, Music, singing, painting and debate competition, Naat khawani and Qirrat competition etc. The District Administration and Police Departments extended their full support and co-operation and their District Heads encouraged the festival administration by visiting the festival and participated/ attended the various events.
